Key: Check in

Currently in Key (the novel) we are well along in two threads. In thread 1, which took place (here) recently, Laysan has been fitted with a long term gag. Meanwhile in thread 3, (there) and many, many years ago, Laurel, who is hopelessly chained to a boulder in the wilderness, is remembering running from the mysterious demons of the Hollow Well with her lover hidden in a locked box filled with pig’s blood. That probably leaves you wondering what ever happened to thread 2.

We are preparing to post the first few chapters of thread 2 which act as a way of defining a Generatrix / Arbor relationship. We chose the word “generatrix” from mathematics. It is a point or line which, when revolved around an axis, creates a geometric figure. “Arbor” is an axle or spindle on which something revolves. Our idea is that the Generatrix is a teacher of sort and the Arbor is the recipient of the teachings. During the time of their relationship, however, the Arbor accedes varying degrees of power to the Generatrix resulting in something a little greater than what we (here) would consider a Domme / sub BDSM relationship. In return, she receives something that she desires as well be it a skill, comfort, a technology, a payment, anything.

In thread 2, we will introduce Sari, a young (relative to your average immortal) Wom with a strong desire to follow in her Mother’s and Sister’s footsteps to become a Generatrix, and Miko, who is Sari’s first Arbor - a very eloquent Wom who is interested in having a particular individual notice her romantically. They live (there) hundreds of years ago in a time when electricity is growing in use, though with some resistance from various segments of the population.

Have no fear. We will eventually get back to the stories of Laysan and Laurel. Drafts have been written. In the meantime, hope that you find that you enjoy Sari and Miko’s story as well.

Thanks,

hollow well (by proxy)

  1. Have your people write it and I'll read it. I'm hooked already and keep finding my self back here. Caught in some dimensional loop you've created in the universe, I suppose.
